Uncontested Divorces with Minor Children

It is important to know that you may still file an uncontested divorce if you have minor children.  However, the length of divorce and the process will change slightly.  You will not be able to have a ten day divorce.  Instead you are subject to a three month waiting period and you may have to take parenting classes.

Contested Divorces in Rogers County

Unlike the uncontested divorces above, contested divorces have no agreement between the parties.  The terms of the divorce must occur through a court process which greatly increases the length of divorce.  This will help determine the amount of alimony, child support, and also the division of property between the couple.

Depending on the parties and the assets, contested divorces could take years.  Parties will be subject to lengthy court processes such as providing documents for discovery.  This is one of the early stages of a divorce proceeding.  It requires proof and disclosure of all financial assets and bank account information, as well as property titles and more.  Often a second round of discovery will occur to make any clarifications to the first discovery.  After this, you will receive a date on the court docket.  On that date you will begin a trial.  Trials could take a few days to several months.
